The theme of Legacy

Smiles coming in thru my window, it’s as if the skies are waiting for me
I’ve danced my life on this earth, feels like the ground has had enough of me
Heaven smiles waiting for me to tell her my side of the story, about my legacy
But my lover won’t let go of me, she’s still holding on, very much in love with me

I’ve seen my child grow, and man! She has grown so gorgeous,
She taps her feet amazingly but confined to herself and that makes me furious,
Coz I want the world to see how gracefully she moves, infact just like me,
She’s beautiful like her mother, smooth like me. She’s holding on to a legacy

I know for sure that when her feet start to move,
they move to a fusion sound of the wind, streams and the trees.
Her soul can see an electrifying audience in the butterflies, birds and bees.
She conveys in a language that’s within the purity of every human being
The very same language, I reckon in which the angel’s sing

There he comes. Lord! he’s going to make my little girl fall in love with him,
I know she’s an adult now, but I can’t seem to find that certain style in him,
But yet her makes her smile, and he understands her every move so deeply
Why do I feel that he has something to do with my very own life and my legacy?

Note: Here we are - the first look. The theme from LEGACY – my new film. With Legacy I am back to writing, the story, screenplay dialogues and even the lyrics for the songs in the film. LEGACY is about society, a father–daughter bond and with dance as the back-drop. It is NOT a film about dancers, it’s not a film about people who study dance or are devoted to it. It’s a story of small family who have a lot of love in them, it’s about the society they live in, it’s about how much they mean to each other. It’s about their ways of life, their views, their beliefs and their legacies are passed on from generation to generation. Many a times, we kill the beautiful qualities that we inherit from our parents / grand-parents. These beautiful qualities are a legacy and we must hold on to these. The film is about all of this, a family like any other, that has these beautiful qualities and holds on to these legacies, and believe it or not – to even the way they love to dance. It’s all in the blood, we sometimes forget to hold on to the good ones. So wake, be aware and hold on to even the smallest of legacies that are a part of your world. Maybe today you just need to cry. You need to ask questions. You have every right to be angry. But I pray that tomorrow you will begin to be able to look around and come to recognize the face of the One you love, who loves you even more.
